Abu Dhabi sits about 140 kilometres down the coast from Dubai — roughly 90 minutes each way, depending on where you are staying. That makes it a genuine day trip rather than an overnight, and it is why almost everyone visits it from Dubai rather than the other way round.
Every version of the day includes the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is the reason most people go and the thing worth building the day around. What changes between the tours is what you add to it — Qasr Al Watan, the Louvre, the Corniche — and how long you are out.
All of it runs in a vehicle carrying a maximum of six guests. That is the difference you will feel most, and it is worth understanding before you compare prices.
Six seats, not fifty
Most Abu Dhabi day trips sold in Dubai run on minibuses or coaches. That is how the cheapest ones reach their price, and if all you want is to see the mosque it works perfectly well. Ours run in a vehicle that carries six guests at most. The practical difference is the day itself: fewer pickups before you leave Dubai, no waiting for forty people to reboard at every stop, and a guide with time to answer you rather than a group to marshal.

Scheduled departure or a private day
The Premium Half-Day is our scheduled shared departure. You book a seat, you share the vehicle with up to five other guests, and it runs to a set route and timing. It is the simplest way to see the mosque and be back in Dubai the same afternoon.
The longer itineraries work better as private days. The car is yours, the route is yours, and the timing bends to you — which matters more in Abu Dhabi than it does in the desert, because the day is built from several sites with their own opening hours and you may well want longer at one than we would schedule. Arrange a private Abu Dhabi day.
What to wear at the Grand Mosque
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque enforces a dress code at the entrance, and it turns people away. Everyone needs shoulders and knees covered, in clothing that is neither tight nor sheer. Women also need to cover their hair, so bring a scarf. Sandals are fine — you will take your shoes off before going inside.
We do not hand out abayas or cover-ups, and we would rather say so here than have you find out at the gate. What we do instead is message you before pickup so there is time to change. Read this now and you will not think about it again.
Pickup, and the day we don't run
Hotel pickup from Dubai is included on every Abu Dhabi tour we run — there is no meeting point to find and no transfer to add at checkout. It is about 90 minutes each way, so expect an early start.
We do not currently run Abu Dhabi on Fridays. That is the Grand Mosque's visiting schedule rather than ours, and since the mosque is the reason most people make the trip, a Friday departure would mean driving two hours to stand outside it. If that changes, this page will change with it.

How far is Abu Dhabi from Dubai?
About 140 kilometres, or roughly 90 minutes of driving each way depending on where in Dubai you start. It is comfortably a day trip — you leave in the morning and you are back the same day.
What is the dress code at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque?
Shoulders and knees covered for everyone, in clothing that is neither tight nor sheer, and hair covered for women — bring a scarf. The mosque enforces this at the entrance and turns visitors away, so it is worth getting right. You will remove your shoes before going inside.
Do you provide abayas or cover-ups?
No. We do not hand out abayas, and we say so up front rather than let you discover it at the gate. We message you before pickup so there is time to change into something that meets the dress code.
Is the tour shared or private?
The Premium Half-Day runs as a scheduled shared departure — you book a seat and share the vehicle. The longer Abu Dhabi itineraries are better as private days, where the car and the route are yours. Either way the vehicle carries a maximum of six guests.
How many people will be in the vehicle?
Six at most. Many Abu Dhabi day trips sold in Dubai run on minibuses or coaches, which is how the cheapest ones reach their price. Ours do not.
How long is the day?
The half-day runs around six hours door to door; the full-day itineraries run around eight. Both include the drive each way, which is about three hours of the total.
Is hotel pickup from Dubai included?
Yes, on every Abu Dhabi tour we run. There is no meeting point to find and no transfer to add at checkout. The drive is about 90 minutes each way, so pickups are early.
Do you run Abu Dhabi tours on Fridays?
Not at the moment. That is down to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque's Friday visiting schedule rather than ours — and since the mosque is the reason most people make the trip, a Friday departure would mean a long drive to stand outside it. Any other day of the week is fine.
Can I build my own Abu Dhabi day instead?
Yes. Abu Dhabi is often one day inside a longer trip rather than a standalone booking, and the sites you want may not match how we have grouped them. Tell us what you want to see, how long you have and how many of you there are, and we will build the day — or the whole trip — around it.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your start time, for a full refund. Cancellations inside 24 hours are non-refundable.
