The core of the safari fleet is ours. We own and run more than fifteen 4×4s, which is why the same vehicles turn up to the same routes and why we can tell you what condition they are in without making a phone call first.
At peak, demand outruns fifteen vehicles. The overflow goes to freelance drivers we have worked with for years and know by name — not to whoever is available on a broker's list. It is the same distinction as between a restaurant with regular suppliers and one that buys at spot price.
Dune buggies are run by a specialist partner we work with exclusively, who owns a fleet of roughly twelve to twenty machines and services them as needed. We do not own those buggies.
We could describe them as ours and nobody would check. But the moment we tell you what we do own, that claim only means something if we are equally clear about what we don't — and a partner who does one thing all day generally maintains it better than an operator doing it on the side.
